How to make it

1150 ml, boilingWater

23 g (1 heaped tsp)Tea

32 min simmerTime

4100 mlMilk

Bring 150 ml water to the boil in a small saucepan.
Add 1 heaped teaspoon (3 g) of Kadak Chai and simmer for 2 minutes, until the water turns deep amber.
Pour in 100 ml milk, and sugar or jaggery if you like.
Bring it back to the boil once, then lower the heat.
Strain into your cup and enjoy it hot.

Serving

Classic with milk and a little sugar or jaggery. For extra kadak, add a crushed slice of fresh ginger with the tea.

Storage

Keep the pack sealed in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and strong smells.

About this tea

Our Assam Kadak Chai is a single grade BOPSM CTC tea, hand-plucked at Basundhara, our small garden in Dhekiajuli, Assam, and crafted in small batches.

It brews quickly into a strong, malty, deep amber cup that stands up beautifully to milk and sugar. Never blended with leaves from other gardens.

Ingredients: 100% Assam black tea (CTC, BOPSM).

How many cups does a pack make?

Roughly 25 cups from 50 g, 50 cups from 100 g and 125 cups from 250 g, using 2 to 3 g of tea per cup.

How should I store it?

Keep the pack sealed in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and strong smells. Unopened, it stays fresh for up to 2 years. Once opened, enjoy it within 3 months for the best flavour.

Is this tea from one garden?

Yes. Every leaf comes only from Basundhara, our own garden in Dhekiajuli, Assam. We never blend in tea from other gardens.
